Aaron Barrett has been doing really well recently fishing from his boat over wrecks for Cod and Pollack. This has sparked a number of questions on what rig he uses so below are some pictures outlining what he uses and how he sets up his rig.
Here are Aaron’s thoughts
“Wreck fishing lures, I’m no genius in this area but here’s a simple setup, I know everyone has there own variation but it’s a pretty simple rig.”
“A lot of people will tell me use a pink lure today or blue or green which I’m sure now and again makes a difference maybe when the waters coloured or it’s super clear. I know the sidewinder rattle backs or the Snowbee COD lures are good but I find after a a few fish either the leads been pulled out of the body or its tail is gone I’ve been using these z man swimmerz 6″ for a while now and honestly can say there great for cod fishing and I still have the same one in the picture below unless you get caught up they will last forever unlike any other.”
Firstly the lure
Then the hook
To help presentation use the “O” ring provided
And here is the rig.
And finally add a spot of Pro-Cure and you could end up with one of these!
