The Ned Rig is proving to be a phenomenon that continues to grow and grow with people catch quality Perch on it up and down the country. A couple of people though have struggled with the method. On talking with them we find they are fishing the Ned way to fast – slow it down and twitch it across the bottom. Imagine a fish with its head feeding in the silt – try to imitate that. Twitch the lure along the bottom so the jig is alway in contact with the river/canal bed, no more than a foot and then just let it settle for 10 or so seconds then repeat. On a separate note if you notice a TRD is not as buoyant as it should be just give it a good old stretch and the crunch it up to help remove the salt, after a minute or two of this the lure should be sitting bolt up right. Cast out and hang on!
