Well I’ve thought about it for a while and after a long discussion with my wife Clare we have decided to take the plunge. On the 18 September there will be a pairs match on the Gloucester Canal, if the event is well supported and everything goes off without any major issues this will be the first of 6 pairs matches over the winter called the LL150 series.
These matches will take place on canals, some will be well known to the lure competition angler but we have also secured some new venues as well. We can confirm Oxford Canal, Kennet and Avon Canal, Gloucester Canal, Grand Union Canal, Worcester Canal and Basingstoke Canal. Full details of the remaining 5 venues and their dates will be released shortly.
For the Series we have gained support from the following people and we would like to go on record to thank them, without their support the events would not be possible.
- Costa Del Mar
- Lure Lounge
- Major Craft
- Predator Tackle
- Team England Lure Squad
- Z-Man
Each match will have a “winner takes” all top prize of £150 to share between the winning pair along with a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses. As well as these great prizes an added incentive will be that the winning pairs from each match between now and Christmas will be invited to try out for the England Shore Team who are competing in 2017.
Entries will be limited to 30 pairs for the first event and the winning pair will get 10 points, 9 for the second, 8 for third etc etc, everybody from 10th down will gain 1 point as long as they submit the card, within time scales at the close of each event. These points will add up over the series at the end of which the winning pair will be crowned the LL Series Champions and will receive a Trophy, a further £150 between them, a Major Craft rod each (NiceFish) and a Pezon & Michel 400cm Street Fishing Handle each (Predator Tackle).
